17 Magnetized Nail Polish - Teal & Blue

While browsing thru Boots today I saw that 17 is now offering magnetized nail polish. I believe the only other company who sells this kind of nail polish is Nails Inc and they are quite expensive (£13). I thought about getting them, cause I really like the effect, but I couldn't get myself to spend that kind of money for a nail polish, so I was excited when I saw the 17 ones, cause they are £4.99 at the moment (introductory offer... £5.99 regular price). They have 4 different colours: Teal, Blue, Gun Metal and Lilac. Lilac was sold out (boohoo) and I thought I should get 2 colours to test, so I bought Teal and Blue.

I tested both colours on my pinkies and I love the green. It turned out great:

As you can see the magnetic stripes are black. I also tested the blue one, but the metallic stuff in the polish is purple instead of black and therefore doesn't show up that easy.

I used 1 coat for the green, 2 coats for the blue. I will definitely get the Gun Metal and Lilac as well, cause it's a good price for a nice look and it is really easy to use.

Nail Polish of the Day - Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia

So, I finally tried my new Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia. I wish I would have gone with my instincts and stayed away from it, cause I had a feeling that the chunky glitter would drive me insane. I generally don't like nail polishes that have chunks of glitter in them, cause it never spreads out evenly and usually the base colour is very thin, so it takes a lot of polish on the nail to make it look nice. This is especially true with this one, cause the base colour is black, but a sheer black, so if don't use 2 or 3 thick layers your nails will just look dirty with a hint of purple sparkle. The chunks can be a bit annoying, especially when they accidently layer over another, cause they will stand out or stick up and I always have the urge to make it even.
The good thing is that they added smaller shimmer particles as well, so at least you don't have to rely solely on the chunks to get on your nails and due to the nature of the polish it dries very quickly.

Shopping Haul - Body Shop, Superdrug, Candles

Did a little bit of shopping yesterday and saw that Body Shop has a sale for some of their body butters, scrubs and some other bits and bobs. I always wanted to try their body butters, especially in Winter as my skin gets quite dry, but I thought £12.50 is quite expensive, so I never bought it. The ones I liked the most when smelling them in the past were the nut ones (almond, brazil nut, macadamia) and lucky for me they were on sale for £5.00. I'm also into scrubs lately, so I thought why not get the matching scrub as well. After a bit of smell comparison, I decided to go with the Brazil Nut Body Butter and Brazil Nut Scrub. Looking forward to testing them. Hope they are as good as I expect them to be. Oh, I also got a foot massage thingy... probably because I was walking in heels for a while already and my feet felt the need for a massage. But it was only £5.00 and I already tested it and it's worth it. Perfect for sitting in front of the TV and roll your feet over it:-)
Then I went into Boots and got some Individual False Lashes from Ardell in short and medium. My lashes are quite short, so I thought short (for volume) and medium (for drama) would work well. I also got some nail polishes (surprise, surprise) from Revlon. The ones I got are Facets of Fuchsia and Smoky Canvas. I wasn't sure if the chunky glitter in Facet of Fuchsia would drive me nuts (cause it won't spread out evenly), but I saw FleurdeForce wear it and liked it, so I thought I give it a try. I tested it and yes, the chunky glitter annoys me quite a bit. We'll see if I can manage to wear it without me going crazy and trying to rearrange glitter.

Last but not least, I got some candles. I'm usually not the candle type, but I guess it's the peer pressure as all the beauty gurus always talk about their candles. Kidding of course.. just thought it might be nice to have some candles to make it more cosy for winter. But I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I got some from Glade and Airwick and I must say, I already LOVE the AirWick ones, cause they change colour and its so relaxing to watch them go from blue to green to orange to purple... love it. And I love the smell too.
Here are some pics of the one candle changing into the different colours:

Argan Oil Hair Treatment

I went to Boots the other day and saw the Argan Oil Hair Treatment on the shelf. A friend of mine once told me a story of how Argan Oil was extracted in the past... pretty interesting I must say. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argan_oil. He also told me that it is very healthy when you eat it, so I thought it's probably also very healthy when you put it in your hair. The price put me off a bit, cause it was £12.99 at Boots. As my Boots and Superdrug are in the same shopping centre, I usually check both in case there is a bargain to grab in one of the stores and... there was, cause the same product was only £6.49 at Superdrug. Yay! I bought it immediately and tested it the next day. They say you should use around 2-3 pumps for short and 4-5 pumps for long hair and put it into towel dry hair. I used 4 pumps and put it everywhere apart from the roots, cause I wasn't sure if it would make my hair greasy as it is an oil after all. I blow dried my hair and it wasn't greasy or oily at all. It felt like it had all been absorbed by my hair leaving my hair super soft (not annoyingly soft, but the awesome kind of soft) and healthy looking and it looked awesome the next day and the day after. I could brush thru very easily and it is shiny and feels great. I know, I only used it once, but I'm already convinced that this is an awesome product and for £6.49 its defnitey worth a try. You can buy or order it from Superdrug  or Boots (in case you want to spend more money for some reason).

Nail Polish of the Day - OPI - Malaga Wine and Konad M60

Today I was in the mood for a little more than just plain colour, so I digged out my Konad plates and stamped a nice black pattern over my OPI Malaga Wine.

The Konad plate I used was the m60 and I used the pattern on the right. The black polish I used is the Essence nail art stampy polish. The black Konad polish would work just as well, but I only have the Konad in white and I thought black looks nicer with this pattern.

Nail Polish of the Day - Color Club - Alias

Today's nail colour is Color Club's Alias. A nice purple with a ton of different coloured shimmer in it, from gold to green, pink to blue, that shows up depending how the light hits you nail. Goes on nicely as long as you do it fairly quickly. The image looks like it has silver shimmer in it, but it actually doesn't. Guess it just doesn't photograph that well.

MAC - Posh Paradise

Did a little bit of shopping at the weekend and stopped at MAC for a peak and couldn't leave without picking up some items from the Posh Paradise collection.

I'm pretty much obsessed with nail polishes and when I saw the two polishes from this collection I couldn't help but buy them, cause the colours are so unique.

I probably don't have to tell you that Immortal Gold is the colour on the left, cause the name describes the colour perfectly. A very rich yellow gold and when you put it on it looks like you are literally painting your nails with liquid gold. Soo pretty. I'm not sure yet how the colour will get along with my pale skin, but hey, who cares... it's immortal gold.

The colour to the right is called Rain of Flowers and at first it just looks like a nice purple, but it has the most amazing blue shimmer thru it, which looks absolutely stunning when the light hits it.

The third item I picked up is the Paint Pot in Half-Wild. A very pretty purple which seems to have a bit of shimmer also, but it's very subtle and you can hardly tell.

Glossybox October 11

Got my October Glossybox in the mail today. This is my second one and last time was ok, but not great, so this one was the make-or-break for me in my decision to keep my subscription or cancel it. They did good:-) Can't tell you how nice it is to unwrap the beautiful packaging. Up to the moment when you see the products, it's like X-Mass and your mind imagines all the nice things that could be in it. And then I open it and... I see a beautiful nail polish from Leighton Denny and that makes it all worth it already (I'm obsessed with nail polishes).

They included a few more products this time, cause it is their 6th box anniversary, which is kinda nice. Not so keen on the perfume samples again, but hey, the other stuff makes up for it. Love the little dermatologica bag and samples (got the multivitamin power recovery mask and multivitamin thermafoliant). Always wanted to try their stuff and I LOVE the Stila Eyeliner in moray. Such a beautiful colour: a nice olive green with golden shimmer... stunning!

The shade of the Leighton Denny nail polish is Sex Kitten, a metallic light blue/silver. Can't wait to put it on my nails. Have my eyes on the shade Supermodel and I'm glad I get to test the polish, before spending the money on it.

The perfumes are not really worth talking about in my opinion. For me everything in a tester smells more of alcohol than anything else.

All in all, I'm definitely happy with my Glossybox this month.

Nail Polish of the Day - Butter London - Victoriana

I absolutely love this color... very nice blue with a ton of silver shimmer. It goes on so easy and it's almost impossible to mess it up. And another good thing: it is super easy to make corrections if the nail polish starts to chip. If you put it on carefully and make sure you do it evenly on the first coat, I even think one coat would be enough, but two coats are just as good and it dries very quickly.

First time visit to Lush & some more Butter London

Went on a little shopping trip to Brighton today, cause I really wanted to get some more Butter London nail polishes and I also decided to try once more to actually enter a Lush store and not turn around immediately due to the intense smell that greets you at the entrance already.

Mission accomplished. Got three georgeous shades from Butter London: Bumster, Marrow and Victoriana and picked up some stuff from Lush as well: Buffy Soap/Exfoliant, Ocean Salt Face Scrub and Sweet Lips Lip Scrub in Vanilla & Chocolate. I survived Lush, but I felt pretty nauseous from all the scents when I finally left the store. Don't know how the girls do it that work there...

Biggest Nail Polish Shopping Haul ever & Swatches

If you watch my Youtube videos or read my blog on a regular basis you will probably know by now that nail polishes are one of my biggest weaknesses. Hardly a week goes by without me buying new nail polishes.

While browsing the web for a swatch for a specific nail polish I came across a blog from someone who had many (nice) swatches from Misa nail polishes. I had not heard about them before, but the colours looked very nice, so I checked out the website that this blogger orders from (www.transdesign.com) and I saw that they ship to the UK. I browsed their nail polishes and found so many nice ones and they were so cheap... I had to order some. Some, in this case turned into 17 (!!) nail polishes.
10 of the polishes are from Misa, 3 from Color Club, 2 from China Glaze, 1 from Essie and one from Entity. I had never heard from Color Club or Entity either, but the colours looked great, so I thought I should give them a try... glad I did.

Let's look at some swatches, shall we?

Here are the shimmery shades from Misa:

And here are the non-shimmer shades

I recently got 2 of the Butter London nail polishes. I wore the shade The Old Bill the last couple of days and LOVED it. Today I tried the shade Perfect Prezzie and love the colour and the ay it applies. I think I have to do another trip to Oasis in Brighton and get myself some more of those.
